The Thirsk and Northallerton Golf Club Ladies' Section has over 80 members. It is an active section with a Committee which shares the responsibilities of running the Ladies' Section.
We look forward to welcoming new members; or if you are curious and want to see what golf is like. Come and visit!
We encourage new members to join in both competitions and social golf. Most competitions are held on Wednesday mornings when the ladies have a tee reservation. To accommodate working ladies, some competitions are held on Saturday when, in general, there are no start times. There are various fun ‘roll-up’ games that take place on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In addition to the weekly golf, we have Teams which take part of the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association (YLCGA) Inter-Club Competition https://www.ylcga.co.uk
2021 YLCGA Inter-Club Matches
-A Team, (HI 0 - 27.4) Match Play, 7 members per team
-B Team, (HI 18.5 - 36.4) Match Play, 7 members per team
-White Rose Team, (HI 0 - 36.4) Match Play, 5 members per team
-Weekend Team, (HI 0 - 36.4) Match Play, 3 member team
We play two clubs each year where we have a home and away match . This is to enable new ladies and higher handicappers to experience playing in a match and visit other clubs. We match a more experienced player with a newer player for a fun day out. (Handicap 0-54).
We have a mixed (men and women) competition with another club and have an away and home match.
